Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 green onions with tops, chopped
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • Asian hot chili sauce, to taste (can omit)
  • 8 skin-on chicken thighs (or can use drumsticks or wings)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a bowl whisk the first 10 ingredients together until well blended; transfer to a large plastic bag, add in chicken; coat well. Seal bag and refrigerate overnight turning the bag frequently during chilling time. Remove chicken to a shallow rack in a baking pan; discard marinade.

  • Step 2: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Fit a rack into a greased baking dish. Remove chicken from bag and discard marinade. Place the chicken on rack skin side facing down.

  • Step 3: Bake uncovered (375 degrees) for 30 minutes. Turn to skin side up and bake about 15-20 minutes longer or until cooked through (cooking time will depend on what chicken part you are using).
