Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a large baking sheet or cookie sheet.
Step 2: Cream peanut butter and butter. Add sugars gradually and cream together until light and fluffy; add vanilla and egg and beat well. In a bowl combine the flour with baking soda, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture until thoroughly combined. Mix in peanuts.
Step 3: Chill the dough for 1 hour.
Step 4: Shape into 1 inch balls and place about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Flatten with the tines of a fork, forming a criss-cross pattern.
Step 5: Bake in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
