  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped raosted peanuts (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a large baking sheet or cookie sheet.

  • Step 2: Cream peanut butter and butter. Add sugars gradually and cream together until light and fluffy; add vanilla and egg and beat well. In a bowl combine the flour with baking soda, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture until thoroughly combined. Mix in peanuts.

  • Step 3: Chill the dough for 1 hour.

  • Step 4: Shape into 1 inch balls and place about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Flatten with the tines of a fork, forming a criss-cross pattern.

  • Step 5: Bake in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
