Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (18-1/4 ounces) package chocolate fudge cake mix (or use your own favorite chocolate cake mix for a 13 x 9-inch pan)
  • 1 (6 ounces) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3/4 cup very strong coffee
  • 1 (12 ounce) carton Cool Whip Topping, thawed
  • 8 (1.4 ounce) Heath Candy bars, crushed (or can use Skor candy bars -- can use more)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Prepare a 5-quart trifle bowl (do not use a smaller trife bowl). Prepare and bake cake according to package directions; cool cake completely.

  • Step 2: Prepare pudding mix according to package directions; set aside.

  • Step 3: TO ASSEMBLE; crumble cake (reserving about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of the crumbled cake). Place half of the remaining cake crumbs in the bottom of the trifle dish, then drizzle with about half of the coffee, then half of the pudding, then half of the whipped topping and half of the crushed candy bars. Repeat once again -- layers of cake, coffee, pudding and whipped topping.

  • Step 4: Combine remaining four crushed candy bars with reserved cake crumbs; sprinkle over top.

  • Step 5: Refrigerate 4-5 hours before serving.
