Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 1/2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 yellow onions (diced)
  • 2 bell peppers (diced)
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 32 ounces tomato juice
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounce) condensed tomato soup (undiluted)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground turkey in 1 tablespoon oil until just starting to brown crumbling it as you go. This will take about 10-15 minutes. Add in onions bell peppers and garlic; cook 5 minutes more. Drain off any excess liquid, then transfer to 6-quart slow cooker.

  • Step 2: Add remaining ingredients (except sour cream and cheddar cheese) to slow cooker, stir well to combine, and cover. Cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours.

  • Step 3: Thirty (30) minutes before you finish cooking, add sour cream and cheese to the slow cooker and stir well. Cover and allow to cook into the dish. Serve and enjoy!
