The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced mushrooms
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1/3 cup dry red wine
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 (1 pound) package sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and rinse under cold water and place into a bowl. Add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  • Step 2: In a large pot cook the onion in the olive oil until translucent. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until tender. Add the ground beef; cook and stir until the beef is evenly browned. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and the wine, and simmer to reduce the liquid (35-45 minutes). Add salt and pepper. Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce mixture. Mix well.

  • Step 3: Spread the mixture into the prepared pan. Place slices of mozzarella cheese to cover completely. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

  • Step 4: Bake in the preheated oven until sauce is thickened, about 30-35 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before cutting into portions.
