Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (14 ounce) saltine crackers (mini-saltine crackers or oyster crackers or two sleeves of regular saltine crackers)
  • 1/2 cup oil (canola oil)
  • 1 package (1 ounce) dry ranch dressing mix
  • 2 tablespoons cayenne and red pepper flakes, mixed (or Cajun seasoning)
  • 1-2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine ranch dressing mix with other dry ingredients and stir in canola oil.

  • Step 2: Put oyster crackers in a very large zippered bag and slowly pour the oil mixture over them. Turn the bag gently as you pour to shift and coat the crackers.

  • Step 3: Set the bag aside for several hours, turning and shifting the bag occasionally, while the crackers absorb the seasonings and oil.

  • Step 4: Transfer to a serving bowl or store in an airtight container.

  • Step 5: This makes a spicy mix, so adjust the heat up or down to match your personal heat index. If you leave out the hot seasonings entirely, you'll have yet another taste which is still very good and perfect for children and those who avoid spicy foods.
