Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound round steak
  • 1/3 cup all purpose four
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Small pinch cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 large onion, thinly skiced
  • 2 cups Italian-style tomato sauce (or 1 small can)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut steak into 4 pieces. Combine flour, garlic powder, salt, pepper and the cayenne pepper in a small bowl.pound into steak with a meat mallet.

  • Step 2: Coat the steak on both sides in flour mixture (make sure the flour sticks to the steak firmly).

  • Step 3: Heat oil in a large skillet; add steak. Cook until browned, about 5 minutes per side. Place steak in a medium greased baking dish (11x7 will work okay).

  • Step 4: Top steak with onion slices. Pour tomato sauce over steak and onions.

  • Step 5: Bake until steak is tender, about 40 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over steak. Bake steak until cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
