Step 1: Chicken ... Add the chicken to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil, lightly sprayed with a non-stick spray. Season with plenty of salt and pepper and lightly spray with a non-stick spray or olive oil. I use my atomizer which is filled with olive oil. Let the chicken rest for 15-20 minutes to take the chill off before cooking it.
Step 2: Broil ... On the second shelf down in your oven, broil on each side for about 5 minutes, until the skin browns up a bit, and you get a little crust, Remember, they will finish cooking in the crock pot; this will just crisp up the skin before adding to the crock pot.
Step 3: Crock Pot ...Transfer to the crock pot and turn on low heat. Mix the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, oil, and garlic to a small bowl and pour over the chicken. Cover and cook 4-5 hours on high - my newer pot takes only 4 hours. Remember, all crock pots can vary in cooking time. The newer ones tend to cook much hotter, so just check.
Step 4: Sesame Seeds ... Add the sesame seeds to a dry saute pan and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until you begin to smell them; and, they begin to lightly toast. Remove, to a bowl until ready to use. This is NOT necessary, but I really enjoy the flavor. You can always use them without toasting them.
Step 5: Serve ... About 15 minutes before serving, stir to combine, and continue to cook an additional 15 minutes. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with the sesame seeds. ENJOY!
