Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Olive Salad:
  • 1 cup black olives, fine chopped
  • 1 cup pimento stuffed olives, fine chopped
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • 1/2 cup celery, fine chopped (try to use the smaller hearts of the celery)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Muffaletta:
  • 1 (8-9 ounce) package Naan
  • 1 cup olive salad (above recipe)
  • 1 small red onion, thin sliced
  • 5 slices pepperoni
  • 5 slices salami
  • 3 slices baked ham
  • 3 slices mortadella
  • 4 slices mozzarella
  • 4 slices provolone
  • 5 to 6 roasted red peppers, cut in thin strips
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Naan ... Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Lay the 2 pieces of Naan on top of one another and cut the edges to form a rectangle. Then, lightly toast the bread directly on the rack. You don't want it crispy, just lightly toasted, approximately 4 minutes. This will keep the bread from getting soggy.

  • Step 2: Sandwich ... Spread the bottom Naan with 1/2 cup of the olive salad. Then, add the following in this order: 1) pepperoni, 2) mozzarella, 3) mortadella, 4) red onion, 5) provolone, 6) baked ham, 7) roasted red peppers; and, 8) salami. Finish with the remaining 1/2 cup of olive salad and the top Naan bread, press down, and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 3-4 hours before serving if possible. Half way through, I flip it over.

  • Step 3: Note: you can use different deli meats. I found this to be a good combination; but use your favorites. Just make sure to alternate between meat, cheese, and the peppers.

  • Step 4: Serve ... Remove from the plastic and cut into small squares. Put a toothpick in each square to hold it together. ENJOY! Again, you can cut bigger slices to enjoy for lunch.
