Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 3/4 cup prepared mashed potatoes
  • 14 ounces canned tuna, drained
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 6 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs, seasoned or unseasoned
  • Canola oil for frying

How to Make

  • Step 1: Stir mashed potato and tuna together in a bowl. Add ketchup, garlic, green onion, Italian seasoning, egg, hot sauce and salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 2: Form the mixture into eight patties. Pat bread crumbs into the cakes to coat. Set on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 1 hour.

  • Step 3: Pour about 1/4-inch layer of canola oil into a large skillet and set over medium-high heat. Fry cakes in hot oil for about 6 minutes, flipping once midway through cooking time, until lightly browned.
