Step 1: Peel the white and sweet potatoes. Place in a bowl then coarsely mash with a fork. Add the butter and cream and mash until smooth. Mix 1/2 cup cheese and and onion. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 2: Spoon the mixture on top of the Shepherd's pie. Sprinkle 1/4 cup shredded cheese over top. Bake until golden browned.
