Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 cups cornbread, crumbled use your favorite recipe for cornbread)
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounce) cream of chicken soup, undiluted (Campbell's)
  • 2 large eggs, well beaten
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth (you might need a bit more to get the proper moisture)
  • 2 tablespoons ground sage
  • 3 tablespoons dried celery flakes
  • 2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, can use more
  • 1 teaspoon salt, can use more
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large bowl (and I mean a large bowl :)),combine soup, broth, and eggs; mix well.

  • Step 2: Add all seasonings and herbs; stir well.

  • Step 3: Add cornbread one cup at a time, mixing well after each cup.

  • Step 4: Mix in chopped chicken,and stir well.(at this time, if the dressing is a bit dry looking and more chicken broth until it looks a bit " soupy " )

  • Step 5: Pour into a greased 11 by 9-inch baking dish( depending on much dressing you have, you might need a larger baking dish).

  • Step 6: Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.

  • Step 7: Crumble in pan before serving, and of course top with turkey or chicken gravy.
