Step 1: In a pot brown the sausage slices. Remove to a plate. Add in bacon; cook until browned. Add in onion and spicy flakes; cook until softened. Add in garlic; cook 1 minute.
Step 2: Add the browned sausage back to the pot along with water, broth, kale and potatoes and 1/2 cup heavy cream; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender (about 20 minutes).
Step 3: Using a potato masher mash some potatoes to thicken up the liquid. Add in remaining 1/2 cup heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, cook stirring until heated through. Season with salt and pepper.
