Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 head (1 to 1 1/4 pounds) broccoli (diced pretty small florets and tender stems)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, cut in quarters and thin sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup croutons (cheese croutons, lightly crushed)
  • 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons butter
  • Red pepper flakes, pinch
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Broccoli ... Add one (1) tablespoon of the butter to a medium saute pan along with the broccoli, red pepper flakes, onion, and garlic. Saute on medium high heat until tender, but still crisp. A non stick pan is what I prefer.

  • Step 2: Finish ... Once the broccoli and onions are tender, add the remaining butter (1/2 to 1 tablespoon, depending on how you like it), croutons, and season with salt and pepper; saute another minute to combine. To crush the croutons, simply add to a baggie and use the palm of your hand. You do not want them TOO fine.

  • Step 3: Serve and ENJOY!
