  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained (Reserve 3 tablespoons liquid)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in small skillet over medium heat.

  • Step 2: Add onion, jalapeno, garlic, chili powder, cumin, and salt; sauté until onions are soft, about 3 minutes.

  • Step 4: Transfer mixture to a food processor; puree with reserved bean liquid until smooth.

  • Step 5: Serve, or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
