Step 1: Place the onions on the bottom of the crock pot, then place the chicken on top.
Step 2: Season the chicken with the salt and pepper.
Step 3: Pour over the whiskey, then the barbecue sauce, and cook on high for 2-3 hours, or low about 5-6.
Step 4: Just before done, add the starch/water mixture to the sauce in the crock pot, stirring to combine. This will thicken the barbecue sauce up.
Step 5: Serve with rice and drizzle extra sauce over individual portions of chicken (cut into pieces).
