Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 green or Chinese cabbage, shredded
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (I remove the seeds)
  • 2 carrots, peeled and grated
  • 6 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  • Dressing:
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 (2 inch) piece fresh gingerroot, peeled and grated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine vegetables in a re-sealable bag.

  • Step 2: In a blender, combine dressing ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour over vegetables. Season with pepper and more salt if needed. Seal bag and turn gently to mix vegetables and dressing.

  • Step 3: Let stand at room temperature for 1 hour or refrigerate overnight before serving.
