Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh spinach leaves
  • 3 tablespoons oil (extra virgin olive oil, more to drizzle on top after cooking)
  • 3 to 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced - for this garlic is sliced not minced
  • Dash red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sane & ground fresh pepper
  • 1 lemon (juiced)
  • Fresh Parmesan or Roman cheese
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Rinse the spinach well in water, then using a salad spinner spin the leaves until most of the moisture is removed.

  • Step 2: In a very large skillet or a large saucepan heat 3 tablespoons olive oil and sauté the garlic slices over medium heat for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

  • Step 3: Add all the spinach, the salt, red pepper flakes (if using) and pepper to the pot, toss it with the garlic and oil, and cook it for 2 minutes, stirring often. Turn the heat on high, and cook the spinach for another minute, stirring with a wooden spoon, until all the spinach is wilted and most of the liquid has evaporated.

  • Step 4: Using a slotted spoon, first squeeze the liquid against the side of the pot to remove any excess liquid. Season to your taste with salt and pepper. Transfer to a serving bowl.

  • Step 5: Drizzle the top with a little additional olive oil then squeeze a lemon over top. Sprinkle cheese over the top. Serve warm or at room temperature.
