Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or more)
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

  • Step 3: Add the butter and sugar to the bowl of an electric stand mixer. Beat together for 2-3 minutes on medium-high speed (until fluffy). Add the eggs, one at a time, scraping down the bowl as needed. Mix in the vanilla and cocoa powder until incorporated well.

  • Step 4: Add the flour, salt, and baking powder to the bowl and mix on low speed until incorporated. Lastly, fold in the chocolate chips & pecans with a spatula.

  • Step 5: Scoop the dough into roughly 1/4 cup balls and place onto prepared baking sheets a couple of inches apart. Flatten slightly with the palm of your hand.

  • Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes, until just set. Remove from oven and allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes.

  • Step 7: Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
