Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 2/3 cups flour-all-purpose
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Vegetable or peanut oil, for frying
  • Confectioner's sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a bowl whisk eggs and sugar until completely combined and frothy. Mix in milk, flour, salt and baking powder. In a large heavy-bottomed pot pour in 3 inches of oil; heat the oil until hot.

  • Step 2: Pour batter into a funnel but use your finger to plug the hole.

  • Step 3: When the oil is hot slowly release your finger from the funnel, pouring the batter (from the funnel) into the hot oil moving the funnel around to make designs.

  • Step 4: Brown on both sides (this does not take long to brown)then immediately remove to paper towels to drain. Sprinkle confectioner's sugar over the top
