Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, large (sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper, small (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked pasta (macaroni or zite, penne, etc)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 14 ounces tomato sauce (one 14 ounce can)
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 8 ounce cheddar cheese, shredded (or mozzarella cheese or mixture, shredded)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 300°F.

  • Step 2: Cook and drain macaroni to only halfway; drain rinse under cold water and set aside.

  • Step 3: In a skillet cook beef with onion, bell pepper and garlic. Add macaroni and enough tomato sauce to coat macaroni well.

  • Step 4: Pour into greased casserole dish and sprinkle evenly with shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese. You can also use any shredded cheese mixture, such as Mexican or 3-cheese mix.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle with oregano and basil (or use 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning) and bake for 45 minutes.
