  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup flour - all-purpose
  • 1/2 teaspoon each onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon olive or peanut oil
  • 5 chicken breasts, sliced into bite-size pieces
  • Hot oil in deep fryer at 365°F.

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 365 F. Combine all ingredients (except chicken and deep-fry oil) mixing well.

  • Step 2: Coat chicken cubes into batter and deep fry, turning once until golden on all sides and cooked through. Remove from fryer using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Keep cooked chicken warm in oven until remaining chicken is done.
