  • 1 to 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 4 ounces bacon (4 slices, cut into bite size pieces)
  • 3 pound cabbage (1 medium head)
  • 1 can (14 1/2 ounce) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon dill (or more to your taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: In large frying pan, cook chopped onion and bacon in oil.

  • Step 2: Thinly slice cabbage and cut slices in half.

  • Step 3: Add to onion mixture and fry over medium - low heat until cabbage is soft; stirring often.

  • Step 4: Add tomatoes, sour cream, dill, salt & pepper,and minced garlic.

  • Step 5: Simmer for 15 minutes and adjust seasoning if necessary.
