Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup and 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons dutch processed cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8 inch square pan.

  • Step 2: In a medium sized microwave-safe bowl or in a saucepan, melt the butter on low heat, then add the sugar and stir to combine.

  • Step 3: Return the mixture to the heat or microwave briefly, just until it's hot but not bubbling.

  • Step 4: Notes: It will become shiny looking as you stir it. Heating the butter and sugar a second time will dissolve more of the sugar, which will yield a shiny top crust on your brownies.

  • Step 5: Transfer the mix to a mixing bowl.

  • Step 6: Stir in the cocoa, salt, baking powder, and vanilla.

  • Step 7: Add the eggs, beating till smooth; then add the flour and chips and nuts if using.

  • Step 8: Beat until well combined and spoon the batter into the prepared pan.

  • Step 9: Bake the brownies for 28-30 minutes, until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out with just a few crumbs clinging to it.
