Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound beef pastrami (sliced)
  • 1 cup shredded gryuere cheese
  • 8 ounces sliced pumpernickle bread (8 slices, I use a swirl pumpernickle-rye)
  • Prepared mustard (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 dill pickle

How to Make

  • Step 1: Spread mustard on all eight slices, set aside.

  • Step 2: Hand shred pastrami.

  • Step 3: In a skillet melt butter on medium heat.

  • Step 4: Add shredded pastrami and warm up, mixing together so it is evenly heated about 5 minutes.

  • Step 5: Add Gryuere and fold into the pastrami stirring it until it melts about 4-5 minutes. Turn heat off.

  • Step 6: Divide mixture into four piles and place each pile on four slices of bread and make a sandwich. Serve immediately.

  • Step 7: Serve each sandwich with a 1/4 of pickle on the side.
