  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to Make

  • Step 1: Let the ingredients (cream cheese, butter, eggs) come to room temperature.

  • Step 2: Cream butter and cream cheese together until fluffy.

  • Step 3: Add salt, sugar, eggs and flour and beat well after each addition.

  • Step 4: Add vanilla last.

  • Step 5: Use a paper towel to wipe the tube pan (Angel Food) with Crisco all over and then dust the Crisco with flour.

  • Step 6: Drop the pan on the counter after you pour in the batter to help settle and get air bubbles out.

  • Step 7: Bake in cold oven (don’t turn the oven on until after you put the cake in) 325° for 1 1/2 hours (90 minutes).
