Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup onions, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 8 ounces andouille sausage, cut in coins
  • 7 ounces white rice, dry
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 7 ounces tomato sauce (1 can)
  • 15 ounces cannelloni beans, undrained (1 can)
  • 1 teaspoon parsley, dried
  • 4 cups savoy cabbage, diced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil and saute onions until translucent, season lightly.

  • Step 2: Add paprika and sausage and cook until lightly browned.

  • Step 3: Add garlic and rice, don't brown.

  • Step 4: Add broth and tomato sauce rinsing out can with broth.

  • Step 5: Add parsley and seasonings to taste.

  • Step 6: Add beans and simmer for 30 minutes covered.

  • Step 7: Add cabbage at very end and cook 10 minutes for firmer cabbage; if you like it more cooked add with rest of ingredients.
