  • 1 1/2 pounds steak, (3/4 inch thick)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 ounces pimiento strips, undrained (1 jar)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon lemon peel, grated
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 17 ounces peas, undrained (1 can)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon rosemary, dried
  • Slurry
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Lightly brown seasoned meat on both sides in the butter.

  • Step 2: Add onion.

  • Step 3: Saute, until onion is tender.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle parsley, thyme, rosemary, garlic salt, pepper, pimiento and lemon peel over meat

  • Step 5: And pour in liquid from peas (both cans).

  • Step 6: Cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 30 minutes.

  • Step 7: Thicken with corn starch mixed with water.

  • Step 8: Stir in lemon juice.

  • Step 9: Cook until thickened and add peas and heat, covered, until peas are hot.
