  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sauce
  • 8 ounces bacon, diced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 10 ounces cream of mushroom soup (1 can)
  • 15 ounces sauerkraut, drained, rinsed (1 can)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente, drain; saving 1/4 cup pasta water.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, fry bacon.

  • Step 3: Add mushrooms and cook until done.

  • Step 4: Pour out 3/4 of grease.

  • Step 5: Add the can mushroom soup and pasta water to rinse out cans; don't burn yourself.

  • Step 6: Warm up.

  • Step 7: Rinse sauerkraut.

  • Step 8: Add sauerkraut to bacon and soup mixture.

  • Step 9: Add shell macaroni.

  • Step 10: Season to taste.

  • Step 11: Cook until tight.
