Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef chuck steak, 1 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup onion, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons green bell peppers, minced
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce (1 can)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup peas, frozen

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut steak into four pieces.

  • Step 2: Mix flour, salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 3: Pound into steak with edge of plate.

  • Step 4: Cook onion and bell pepper in hot Wesson oil until golden.

  • Step 5: Push to side of pan.

  • Step 6: Brown meat slowly on both sides

  • Step 7: Cover with onion mixture.

  • Step 8: Add tomato sauce and water (wash out can); blend.

  • Step 9: Add Worcestershire sauce.

  • Step 10: Heat until bubbling well.

  • Step 11: Cover tightly, lower heat and simmer 2 hours or more, until meat is very tender.

  • Step 12: Add peas 10-15 minutes before serving.
