  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped

  • 1/4 cup confectioners sugar, for dusting

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Melt the butter in a 7x11 inch Pam sprayed baking dish, and tilt the pan to coat all of the sides and set aside.

  • Step 3: In a medium bowl, stir together the brown sugar, flour, and baking soda.

  • Step 4: Mix in the eggs and vanilla until smooth, then stir in the walnuts.

  • Step 5: Pour over the Pam sprayed melted butter.

  • Step 6: Be careful not to overbake or they get hard.

  • Step 7: They need to be turned out of the pan immediately upon taking them out of the oven or they have a tendency to stick.

  • Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the edges begin to brown.

  • Step 9: Cool, then cut into squares, and dust with confectioners sugar.
