  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 ounces vanilla extract
  • 2 ounces lemon extract

How to Make

  • Step 1: Chop nuts and fruits into medium-sized pieces and dredge with 1/4 cup of flour.

  • Step 2: Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

  • Step 3: Add well-beaten eggs and blend well.

  • Step 4: Sift remaining flour and baking powder together; fold into egg and butter mixture.

  • Step 5: Add vanilla and lemon extracts and mix well.

  • Step 6: Add fruits and nuts, blending well.

  • Step 7: Grease a 10-inch tube pan.

  • Step 8: Line with foil, parchment, or waxed paper. (Do not use grocery bags.)

  • Step 9: Grease again.

  • Step 10: Pour batter into prepared pan.

  • Step 11: Place in cold oven and bake at 250°F for 3 hours.

  • Step 12: Or line 2 (9 x 5 x 3) foil loaf pans, greasing both pans and liners well.

  • Step 13: Place in cold oven and bake at 250°F for 2 hours.

  • Step 14: Cool in pan on cake rack.
