Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 ounces bacon, thick cut, diced,(3 strips)
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, to taste
  • 6 ounces crab meat, undrained (1 can)
  • 14 ounces cooked long grain white rice

How to Make

  • Step 1: In large skillet, fry the bacon pieces over medium-low heat until all of the fat is rendered and bacon is crispy, about 3 to 5 minutes.

  • Step 2: Remove the bacon pieces and set them aside. Reserve the rendered fat in the pan.

  • Step 3: Over medium heat, add celery, bell pepper, and onion to the pan with the bacon fat and sauté until vegetables have softened and onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.

  • Step 4: Add the cooked rice and crab with juice to rice.

  • Step 5: Cook for 3 minutes

  • Step 6: Add crumbled bacon, and seasonings to taste to the pan with the vegetables.

  • Step 7: Incorporate all ingredients until evenly mixed, turn to low, and let cook covered for an additional 5 minutes.

  • Step 8: Let stand covered for 5 minutes off the heat.
