Step 1: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente, drain saving 1/2 cup water.
Step 2: In another skillet heat oil, add garlic and cook a minute.
Step 3: Add salt and tomatoes, simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Add pasta water and pasta and cook until tight.
Step 5: Add basil and toss.
Step 6: Season to taste.
