  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 pound ham slice, cut into 1/2 inch squares
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 12 ounces evaporated milk (1 can)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 15 ounces creamed corn (1 can)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Recipe is as written:

  • Step 2: Boil a potato for each person, peel it and cut in small cubes and set aside.

  • Step 3: Cut the slice of ham into 1/2 inch squares.

  • Step 4: Fry in butter until almost done and set aside.

  • Step 5: Use the juice and browning from the ham to make a thick cream sauce. Add flour and season to taste.

  • Step 6: Add milk, rinse out can with water and cook down.

  • Step 7: Open a can of creamed corn and stir into the cream sauce.

  • Step 8: Mix all ingredients together in a casserole.

  • Step 9: Bake at 350F until the cream sauce and corn bubble 30 minutes.
