  • 2 cups turnips, peeled, diced
  • 2 cups water, boiling
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Mash
  • 2/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook turnips in salted water until tender.

  • Step 2: Drain.

  • Step 3: Meanwhile, Pam spray 8x8 casserole.

  • Step 4: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Step 5: When turnips are tender, mash and then add 1/2 cup bread crumbs, saving rest for top.

  • Step 6: Add sugar, milk, salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 7: Add eggs.

  • Step 8: Mix together.

  • Step 9: Pour into greased 8x8 baking dish.

  • Step 10: Dot with butter and rest of crumbs.

  • Step 11: Bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees F.
