Step 1: In the bottom of a 8 x 8 x 2 inch glass baking dish spread the brown sugar and then scatter the bread cubes over the brown sugar.
Step 2: In a bowl whisk together the eggs and the next 6 ingredients (-salt)and then pour over the bread cubes in the pan. Let it stand for 30 minutes.
Step 3: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 4: Place baking dish in a roasting pan. Pour enough water (adding some ice cubes in the water so water does not boil) into the roasting pan to come up 1/2 way up sides of baking dish. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until set and is brown on top. Remove from oven but let it cool in water for 20 minutes.
Step 5: Spoon bread pudding into dessert bowls and serve warm.
