Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Meatballs
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 20 ounces beef consomme soup (2 cans)
  • 1 cup water (2 cans)
  • Onions
  • 1 cup onions, diced
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Gravy
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons Heinz 57 sauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix balls ingredients together and form into 1 1/2 inch balls.

  • Step 2: Brown in 1/4 cup oil; set aside.

  • Step 3: Saute 1 cup chopped onions in the same pan as used for meatballs.

  • Step 4: Combine onions with 2 cans beef consomme and 2 cans water.

  • Step 5: Bring to a boil and add the meatballs.

  • Step 6: Simmer for 20 minutes.

  • Step 7: Remove the meat from pan, leaving the broth.

  • Step 8: Strain the broth and thicken with 1 cup milk and flour.(Or just leave onions in)

  • Step 9: Season to taste and add 2 tablespoons Heinz 57 Sauce.

  • Step 10: Pour over the meatballs.
