  • 30 ounces green beans, drained (2 cans)
  • Sauce
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 2 ounces pimentos, undrained (1 jar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounces Monterey jack cheese, shredded

How to Make

  • Step 1: Beans: Cook bacon until crisp and remove.

  • Step 2: Leave 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in pan and add drained green beans, simmer.

  • Step 3: Season lightly.

  • Step 4: Meanwhile, mix milk, seasoning, chicken bouillon and cornstarch in a saucepan.

  • Step 5: Whisk constantly while bringing it to a boil.

  • Step 6: Add in pimento and whisk until incorporated.

  • Step 7: Take off heat and add cheese and stir until melted.

  • Step 8: Add to beans and simmer until bubbly.
