We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt chocolate chips and shortening in heavy bottomed saucepan, over very low heat, stirring until smooth. Cool slightly. You can also use the Microwave to do this step. Microwave on Medium setting (50%) 1-1 1/2 minutes, or until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth when stirred. Cool slightly.

  • Step 2: Dip your favorite fruit, fruit slices, pretzels or chips about 2/3 of the way into chocolate mixture, leaving the tip, so you don't burn your fingers. Shake gently to remove excess chocolate.

  • Step 3: Place dipped fruit pieces on a cookie sheet covered with a waxed paper sheet. Leave uncovered. If making pretzels and chips, place a separate sheet of waxed paper for them on your counter.

  • Step 4: Refrigerate fruit pieces until chocolate is firm, about 30 minutes. DO NOT refrigerate pretzels or chips. Leave them on the counter to firm up.
