  • 1 pound potatoes, peeled, cubed (1 cup )
  • 1/2 cup carrots, cubed
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 4 cups water (1 quart)
  • 1/2 cup tomato, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/16 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown salt pork and onions together.

  • Step 2: Clean and pick over clams, reserving liquor.

  • Step 3: Chop finely.

  • Step 5: Add clam liquor, salt pork and onions, clams and tomatoes.

  • Step 6: Season and stir in butter just before serving.
