  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Peel turnips, cut in half lenthwise, then slice each half crosswise into thin slices.

  • Step 3: Arrange alternate layers of turnip and onion in a greased 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.

  • Step 5: Dissolve bouillon in boiling water and pour over vegetables.

  • Step 6: Dot with butter.

  • Step 7: Cover casserole with foil or lid and bake 1 hour 15 minutes, or until turnips are tender. Uncover last 15 minutes.
