Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2: Peel turnips, cut in half lenthwise, then slice each half crosswise into thin slices.
Step 3: Arrange alternate layers of turnip and onion in a greased 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
Step 4: Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
Step 5: Dissolve bouillon in boiling water and pour over vegetables.
Step 6: Dot with butter.
Step 7: Cover casserole with foil or lid and bake 1 hour 15 minutes, or until turnips are tender. Uncover last 15 minutes.
