Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 15 ounces corn, undrained (1 can)
  • 1/2 cup corn (frozen)
  • 10 ounces tomato soup (1 can)
  • 16 ounces tomatoes (1 can)
  • 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • Roux
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Saute onions and green pepper in butter.

  • Step 2: Add beef and brown and drain if needed.

  • Step 3: Add remaining ingredients, except flour and cook as long as you like. (Simmer 10 minutes)

  • Step 4: Just before serving, stir flour into a little water and add to stew.

  • Step 5: Cook, stirring until mixture is thickened to the consistency of chili.

  • Step 6: Season to taste. They used more salt back in the day lol and native Americans really used salt.
