Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pound ground turkey (you can also use 1/4 lb turkey and 1/4 lb turkey sausage which makes a great flavor)
  • 1/2 cup extra chunky spaghetti sauce (there are many brands I try to pick out a garden vegetable type)
  • 1/2 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons black olives, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon milk (2%, I try not to use skim)
  • 1/3 cup low fat ricotta cheese
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup low fat mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • TOPPING
  • 1/2 cup Bisquick (or any baking mix)
  • 1 cup milk (2%, I try not to use skim)
  • 3 large egg whites (or approximately 1/2 cup egg substitute - egg beaters)
  • 1/2 cup low fat mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Garnish, fresh basil
  • Extra sauce, warmed up

How to Make

  • Step 1: Turkey ... In a medium saute pan, add the olive oil and bring to medium heat. Add in the turkey, and saute until golden brown. Add the spaghetti sauce and the olives and cook 1-2 minutes until warm. Turn off the heat while you finish the rest of the pie.

  • Step 2: Cheese ... In a small bowl, add the ricotta, parmesan, milk, salt and a pinch of pepper and mix well. Again set to the side.

  • Step 3: Casserole ... Spray a 9
