Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds okra, tipped and tailed to make 1 pound (because fresh okra is not readily available in my area, I'd use frozen which is available)
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 4-6 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 - 1 tablespoon fresh marjoram, chopped
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 pounds large shrimp, in the shell
  • Kosher or coarse sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Bring pot of water to a boil, add the okra, and boil for 2 minutes. Drain and refresh under cold water. Drain again and set aside.

  • Step 2: Melt the butter in a large skillet. Add the garlic, cayenne, marjoram, and rosemary and cook over medium heat for a few minutes without browning. Add the shrimp and cook until they are pin on one side, about 2 minutes; turn.

  • Step 3: Add drained okra and cook until the shrimp are pink on both sides and cooked through and the okra is reheated, about 3 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve immediately. Enjoy!
