The ingredients are:
  • 12 ounces rigatoni pasta (dry)
  • 6 cups water boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Filling
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce, divided (1 jar)
  • 1 pound frozen chicken nuggets (1 bag)
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 ounce parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375º. Grease an 9 inch baking dish with cooking spray

  • Step 2: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta, stirring occasionally, until very al dente, usually 2 to 3 minutes less than package instructions.

  • Step 3: Drain and transfer to a large bowl.

  • Step 4: Add 1/2 the jar marinara sauce and toss to coat

  • Step 5: Layer half of pasta mixture into bottom of prepared dish.

  • Step 6: Arrange chicken nuggets in a single layer over top. Dollop half of remaining marinara sauce over nuggets.

  • Step 7: Sprinkle with 2 cups mozzarella and 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese

  • Step 8: Tightly cover baking dish in foil.

  • Step 9: Bake casserole until warmed through, 40 to 45 minutes.

  • Step 10: Top with basil.
