Step 1: In a large pot over medium heat, cook ground beef until evenly brown.
Step 2: Season lightly.
Step 3: Stir in onions, jalapenos and saute until soft and translucent.
Step 4: Season with chili powder, and cook for about 2 minutes.
Step 5: Add potatoes, carrots, hominy, tomatoes, and chilies.
Step 6: Pour in beef broth.
Step 7: Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Step 8: Reduce heat, and simmer 2 hours adding water as needed.
