Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3/4 - 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white flour
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 7 cups sliced peeled apples
  • 2 tablespoons butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Peel and slice apples; combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and mix lightly through the apples.

  • Step 2: Heap into a pastry-lined 9" pie plate; dot with butter; adjust top crust and flute edges and cut the vents.

  • Step 3: Bake in a 425 degree oven for 50-60 minutes or till crust is browned and apples are done.

  • Step 4: NOTE: I put think strips of aluminum foil around the eges of the pie before I bake it so that the edges don't burn; I take them off the lalst 10-15 minutes or so, just to make sure they are browned up.
