Step 1: In a Dutch oven, fry the hamburger till done; add chopped onion; mix well.
Step 2: Add the next 6 ingredients and mix well.
Step 3: Add the beans and spices and mix well.
Step 4: If doing the crockpot, put it into it and "crock" it all day; if you are going to do it on the stove, put a cover on the pot and lower the heat to simmer (just under a boil) and cook for about 3-4 hours---you may need to add a tad of water if you are doing it on the stove.
