Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds hamburger
  • 2 cups chopped onions
  • 2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (14-ounce) bottle catsup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 (15 1/2 ounce) cans pinto beans, rinsed
  • 2 (15 1/2 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans, rinsed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 5 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a Dutch oven, fry the hamburger till done; add chopped onion; mix well.

  • Step 2: Add the next 6 ingredients and mix well.

  • Step 3: Add the beans and spices and mix well.

  • Step 4: If doing the crockpot, put it into it and "crock" it all day; if you are going to do it on the stove, put a cover on the pot and lower the heat to simmer (just under a boil) and cook for about 3-4 hours---you may need to add a tad of water if you are doing it on the stove.
