  • 2/3 cups shortening (oleo or margarine)
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar, packed (1 pound)
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Dry
  • 2 2/3 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Add
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped (it said nuts)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

How to Make

  • Step 1: Whisk dry ingredients together.

  • Step 2: In another bowl, cream wet ingredients together and add to dry ingredients.

  • Step 3: Add the nuts and chocolate chips.

  • Step 4: Pour onto greased cookie sheet (10 1/2 x15 inch pan was given)

  • Step 5: Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until done. Check earlier.
